Just like Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison (who both died at the height of their music careers), Janis Joplin was also, very much, the absolute embodiment of rock'n'roll of her generation (the 1960s). Known as "The Queen of Psychedelic Blues", Janis Joplin (born in Texas) was, indeed, a very powerful, blues-inspired singer who always gave her cheering fans a great, emotionally-charged show on stage. Sadly enough, Janis had a decidedly troubled personality which, in turn, partially contributed to her untimely death (at 27) from a heroin overdose (compounded with alcohol) in 1970. This "Greatest Hits" CD contains 12 tracks in all which were recorded by Joplin (along with accompanying musicians) in the years from 1967-1972. (*Watch "Piece Of My Heart" music-video"*)
