The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is a classic American novel written by Mark Twain. The book tells the fictional tale of a boy named Tom Sawyer living along the Mississippi River in the 1840s. One night, Tom and his friend, Huckleberry “Huck” Finn witness a murder at a graveyard. The story then revolves around the boys and their adventures as they meet new characters along the way, and get more involved with the aftermath of the murder. The novel certainly shows how different life was at this time as readers are given an insight on the lives of several characters and the community they live in. Mark Twain does well to create an interesting plot that moves along at a decent pace and doesn’t disappoint. I would give the book a rating of 4 stars, and I believe everyone should read this renowned classic at least once in their lives. @Riveting_Reviews of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
