Rounding the Horn

Being a Story of Williwaws and Windjammers, Drake, Darwin, Murdered Missionaries and Naked Natives--a Deck's-eye View of Cape Horn

A fun and interesting read and introduction to a very remote part of the world. The history of western exploration of the Cape Horn region is interesting to read, and the decline and disappearance of it's native tribes after 7500 years of very marginal existence is sad. They survived thousands of years of isolated existence in a sub arctic environment without even possessing clothes, but disappeared due to disease when in contact with westerners who mostly wanted to help them.
