Cary Grant was hilarious in the first half, and the bumbling Nigel Bruce was adorable as 'Beaky' with his "Old Bean"s and "Old Girl"s... Hitchcock accelerates Grant's dark side in the second part of this romantic thriller, and Joan Fontaine excels as his jittery wife, nearly losing it over whether he *is* or he isn't... This was her Oscar winning follow-up to the prior year's Hitchcock nugget, "Rebecca". Highly recommended, although, as another has mentioned, the ending which is said not to have been to Alfred's choosing, wasn't particularly satisfying to me. Still a terrific film.
