Having not lived during the 70s, and since my high school history class ended at World War II, when I hear "Watergate" I immediately think about an illegal break-in involving Nixon, but sadly that is the extent of my knowledge. This film provides fascinating details and is captivating from beginning to end. Although this film is about how these two exceptional reporters got the story rolling, the ending is surprisingly bland. When the screen faded to black, I was shocked when the credits began rolling. Perhaps even the actual news video of Nixon resigning would've added something but, since the film came out shortly after these events occurred, I have to assume the audience was probably sick of seeing his face.
