A fantastic story. The depth with which Asimov and Silverberg have explored characters reactions gives the reader such a strong feeling of characterization. The idea is creative to begin with, but the exploration of the emotional aspects makes this more than just another sci-fi book. It is a look at emotions, religion, science, and how they interact in the presence of what appears to be a cataclysmic event.
