This super cute penguin has a problem; he has the hiccups! His friends have given hims all kinds of suggestions, but none of them work. One friend, Franklin (not the turtle) suggested he wait on an iceberg for someone to scare him. Enter the reader. Together readers try and scare the hiccups away, without success. Finally Franklin make his appearance, and the hiccups are successfully sent packing. My only issue with this book is the little penguins friend, Franklin, is an Orca, which in the real world would legit scare a penguin because they eat penguins! So it makes sense for Franklin to be the one to scare penguin's hiccups away...and when Franklin comes out of no where I had a brief instant of 'oh no! he's going to be eaten!'. Luckily I was wrong, but still. From not only my own experience but that of my fellow children's librarians this is a great read aloud. Children love to try and scare the hiccups away, and can relate to the penguin's problem.
