A most enjoyable and humorous read about an aging Scottish Canadian Engineering Professor who runs for election in s small town close to Ottawa. He wins the election despite his request for no lawn signs, no advertising, no interviews, no pictures, and no constituent's office. Besides these demands, he wants what most of the Conservative citizens in the town don't want such as preferring public interests instead of individual interests. Despite the topic - Canadian politics - there are plenty of laughs in this book - so light reading. The aging Scottish character is delightful as is his Executive Assistant, Daniel Addison. This book was a winner of Canada Reads and the Stephen Leacock Award for Humour.
