Fair - Mona Lisa Smile (2003) 117 min. Wellesley College for women was a place for young woman to achieve academic greatness only to become stay-at-home wives; which of course “not there’s nothing wrong with that”. But to Katherine Watson, that direction was a major faux pas in her books. With revolutionary thought, Watson (played by Julia Roberts) moulds the young women to experience independent thought and break social norms. The film had great intent with a wonderful cast – unfortunately, the film's momentum loses itself especially when the scenes move away from the students and into Watson’s personal life.
