A plea by college Professor and comics lover Versaci, that comics are a worthy form of literary expression, up there with prose writing and film. And while it is true, it is once again based on the usual supsects, Spiegelman, Crumb, Kurtzman, the Hernandez Bros, and a few more. And it is almost impossible to move genres into the mainstream. let alone high art writing, no matter how wrong that is. A few works/writers cross over but genres stay put. Crumb, for example, is more likely going to be remembered as a great graphic artist than author.
