Just put on a happy face!

Enter Happyface's journal and get a peek into the life of a shy, artistic boy who decides to reinvent himself as a happy-go-lucky guy after he moves to a new town. See the world through his hilariously self-deprecating eyes as he learns to shed his comic-book-loving, computer-game playing ways. Join him as he makes new friends, tries to hide from his past, and ultimately learns to face the world with a genuine smile. With a fresh and funny combination of text and fully integrated art, Happyface is an original storytelling experience.

Definitely a unique contribution and pretty well done. Happyface takes the form of a journal for a young man who has way more on his plate than any teenager should. Between family problems with alcoholism, a vicious divorce, and serious relationship issues, nothing is going right for this young man. So he decides to reinvent himself in his new, post-divorce home as Happyface. He's that guy who is always smiling. Problem is, the facade is going to crack eventually, especially when the past comes back to haunt him.

This is an interesting book/gn. It has a very authentic feel for a troubled teen. Definitely has some appeal that would not have come across in plain text!

I really like this book, it's realistic and true. When you change schools and at your old school you where bullied (or something else), well when you change schools you want to start over. And that's what the book is all about.

I would recommend this to any male teens who were looking for some realistic fiction to read. It incorporates graphics quite nicely. I felt that overall the main character was too whiney and that Edmond left to much unsaid in the beginning and instead of insights (like the fact that the main character's brother actually died and was going out with Chloe) that should be shocking and enlightening are confusing and leave the reader feeling like he or she missed something.

It book was pretty good. It was a story of a boy who had some very difficult stuff to deal with. He moved to a new school and thought he could change and put everything behind him. He learned that your background and problems follow you where ever you go. I really like the pictures and the journal layout of the book. It only has 3 stars because it did not wow me as much as I thought it would, however it was a good book.

This was a really funny book to read and it taught me a few lessons along the way, surprisingly. I'd recommend this to people who like to read books with pictures in it.

Shows the true depth of the soul. The pictures were really entertaining and so was the story line. It shows a lot of true nature and human action that people can relate to.

This book is absolutely amazing. I love the anonymity of Happyface! It adds to your imagination of the book. The beginning tells you nothing and you actually believe his 'lie' but then near the end you find out what actually happened and it's just... WOW.
