So apparently the last time I watched this movie was back in 2006 and I rated it one star. Well, I watched it yesterday and I'm watching it again today and it deserves more than one star so I'm bumping it up to three. I'm a John Mahoney fan and he was great as Perry but widely underused. I liked his brief relationship with Olympia Dukakis but I wish they had expanded it more because he definitively needed more screen time. I was disappointed because I thought he had a bigger role. That being said, I liked Cher's romance with Nicholas Cage and the movie as a whole was enjoyable.

I watched this movie because it was in a list of top romantic movies. I personally don't think it should be in the list. Cher's acting was ok... I have seen worse and I have seen better. Nicolas Cage's acting was so bad it was comical.

One of my most favorite movies. I love the dynamics between members of this family. And Cher is the best!

Moonstruck is quirky and wonderful, and it has a fairy tale feel. It's definitely my favorite Nicolas Cage movie and probably my favorite Cher movie, too. Olympia Dukakis makes everything she is in better. Its writer John Patrick Shanley went on to write and direct Doubt (he wrote the play also). Moonstruck is rated PG.

One needs to be over the age of 40 before one can fully appreciate Moonstruck -- well over the age of 40. First saw the film theatrically when I was 20. I thought I was mature. I wasn't. Film sailed passed me in ways I wasn't equipped to recognize. 2 decades elapse. I catch it again, by chance, late at night, on cable at some crummy motel in suburban Denver. OMG!!!! It's a work of well observed genius -- but only if one has first LIVED.

Honestly, I'm not sure if I like or dislike this movie. I must say, it was one of the oddest movies I have ever seen. I do not like Cher but she was sorta nice. Nicholas Cage, I mean come on, it's Nick Cage! But, I must say, Cher is like 20 years older than Cage in this movie, making it hilarious to watch them kiss and all. Haha!

If you want to watch a real quirky movie, go for it!

It works as a drama but not as a comedy.

Glorious romantic farce, with Cher as Loretta, a dutiful, middle age Italian widow, planning a "sensible" 2nd marriage to stolid Danny Aiello...who then falls for his sexy younger brother (Nicholas Cage). Along the way, Loretta dyes her hair, gets a sexy makevoer, and turns into...Cher. Great supporting cast: Aiello, Olympia Dukakis as Loretta's world-weary mother, and John Mahoney as a silver fox outfoxed.
