Ed Fetting, chief executive officer of Economic Development Lethbridge, said it's going to take the combined efforts of all Albertans to bolster the livestock industry as it struggles to survive the scare over mad cow disease in the province. Those efforts will also go a long way to support the Lethbridge economy, which relies heavily on the industry. Fetting points out the potential to damage the city's economy is huge because of the numerous livestock related industries in Lethbridge, ranging from feed producers to trucking companies. Any impact would affect both profits and jobs.
