You know, Croesus once said, "Count no man happy until the end is known."

You know, if you modernize it, what Croesus actually said is, Count no man happy until he's had a good death. I genuinely try to give my subjects a good death when I can. But I can't do that unless I know what you did.

My family.
-I have no interest in them. I do understand that if you... if you wanted to take your time with this. Count of five?
-Why not?
One.

What Simon would call all that Greek shit. It's not until you know how someone dies that you know what really mattered to them. What they cared about, what they'd sacrifice for. What they would die for. Who they loved and who loved them in return. We don't have much control over our lives. But our end? Sometimes we write that story. If you're getting this, you know my end. I've never been happier.

Add a CommentJust an awful movie. Wonderful cast, but all wasted on a terrible script and terrible action sequences. Turned it off halfway through.
Somewhat derivative of La Femme Nikita. Recruited assassin who has an addiction to drugs or alcohol. Showing Jessica Chastain's family problems showed her humanity and not just seen as a loner assassin killing machine. Too bad Geena Davis played the sickly mom because if you want to see a badass assassin check out Geena Davis in Long Kiss Goodnight.
Too over the top for me. I can't believe a little woman can manhandle a room of armed soldiers and throw them around like rag dolls.
Plus all of the clichés, dysfunctional family, alcoholic, organization turns on her etc.
Quite a good one, but as usual, way over the top for such a slight female to be able to go one on one with a much stronger male. Different if she used her smarts and was just a better marksman/woman with a gun. Mind you earlier in the movie she was a good shooter, but when one on one she could not hit a barn door.
Echoing Rom72's comment, the couple of energetic fight scenes are just that, a couple of choreographed repetitive moves in all the film's fight scenes. Testament for the merit of having doubles or starring younger and more athletic actors in similar action thrillers as the femme fatale in honey-traps. Chastain is 43 years old and her costars are same or older. In sum, a underwhelming film on the sunset stage of an assassin, and that her past is catching up on her fast.
A couple of energetic, if unbelievable fight scenes, interspersed with interminable talk between dysfunctional family members. Nothing to see here.
A disappointing movie, I cannot recommend it to fans of well crafted spy stories. The story does not provide for any characters of real interest or likability.
2020. She's an assassin. Heavy metal techno music killing machine movie. I liked it. Pretty graphic. Rated R. It's a franchise with continuing stories.
An international assassin, betrayed for less-than-credible reasons by those she should be able to trust, returns to her home town to confront her troubled past before her enemies catch up with her. Ava is an ok film, but it doesn't include anything that stands out as original in the genre. You may enjoy The Bourne Identity, Salt or Spy Game more.
Excellent acting, but way too violent for me. Kristi & Abby Tabby
