Another really great novel by Sarah Dessen. The characters in the novel are likable and it deals with relatable issues many of us go through (I could relate to Macy many times throughout the story). The only negative is that the story seemed a little slow at times, but overall a really great book.

This was a great book by Sarah Dessen. Loved the story and meaning behind it but the story was honestly a bit slow in the beginning but truly progressed into becoming a beautifully written book, with both compassion and love being portrayed as key emotions.

Sounds like emotionally cheating affair books

Macy, a teenage girl is trying to manage her summer full of SAT studying and working at the library information test, without the company of her boyfriend while he is away at Brain Camp. Then she gets a part time job at Wish catering when her mother hires them for a reception, and her life turns around. She learns how to let go and have fun with her life, as well as how true friends should be and what someone she should really be in love with is like. Wes, the boy Macy suddenly develops a strong attraction for, unfortunately is on a break with his own relationship, so that leaves them both in the position where they’re not comfortable to be with other people, but wishing they were.
I liked this novel because It shows her family struggles, which is a big issue in this book, and how she manages to deal with them. There are also many moments where you can really connect with the characters! I recommend this to others!

This book is so sweet and heartfelt- it's not necessarily an action packed book but it's still really hard to put down. It's very realistic and relate-able. I always found myself talking to the main character out loud, either shouting, "No!" or "Go, Macy!". It was my first Sarah Dessen book, and now I'm very anxious to read more.

My favourite Sarah Dessen novel! A lot of YA authors tend to skip over the much needed foundation of any excellent relationship: friendship. Macy and her love interest Wes develop a strong friendship, understanding and respect of each other before getting into a relationship. There is a lot of great humor in the book as well from the side characters (like Kristy and Burt). I would have liked to see more of Wes and Macy as a couple but that's okay - it didn't make me like the book any less!

The Truth About Forever is one of the older novels written by Sarah Dessen, published almost ten years ago. In my opinion, it is one of the best of her books. I’m not much of a fan of her writing, mainly because I don’t read realistic fiction/romance and that seems to be all she writes, but this book had gotten good reviews, so I thought I’d give it a chance. I wasn’t disappointed; it was very good.

The plot of the story is that Macy, a teenage girl that is striving to be perfect, is trying to manage her summer full of SAT studying and working at the library information test, without the company of her boyfriend while he is away at Brain Camp. Too bad he decides that they should take a break for the summer, which leaves Macy confused and angry.

I liked this novel so much because it gives a lot of insight in the Macy’s mind. It shows her family struggles, which is a big issue in this book, and how she manages to deal with them. There are also many moments where you can really connect with the characters, and when second you will be happy, then sad, then angry. Any book that can manage to change your emotions is well done.

Overall I really enjoyed this book, but from what I’ve read from more of Dessen’s recent work I haven’t enjoyed. Maybe this is a one time thing, but I’m glad I’ve given it a shot.

It's just that...I just think that some things are meant to be broken. Imperfect. Chaotic. It's the universe's way of providing contrast, you know? There have to be a few holes in the road. It's how life is.

It was becoming clear to me that I shouldn't bother to get too attached to anything. Turn your back and you lose it. Just like that.

What you have to decide is how you want your life to be. If your forever was ending tomorrow, would this be how you'd want to have spend it?

Lauren Aug 19, 2008

For any one of us our forever could end in an hour, or in a hundred years from now. You can never knkow for sure, so you'd better make ever second count.
