Hollow Man was my first introduction to author Mark Pryor, a gifted and imaginative writer. I have a penchant for individuals with quirky, unique, and odd personalities. I especially enjoy those with a dry sense of humour, people who do not take themselves “too seriously”...the type of person who is aware of their idiosyncrasies and acknowledges their shortcomings.
Meet Dominic, the protagonist who possesses all of these qualities. Pryor surprisingly combines my love of law, crime and abnormal psychology, specifically, psychopathology. He masterfully weaves these areas into an intriguing tale whose protagonist is complex, intelligent, and witty and freely admits to the reader that he is a psychopath. Dominic is that rare character we both like, yet loathe. We are drawn to Dominic despite his faulty moral compass. I do not know how, but Pryor accomplishes this feat effortlessly and brilliantly. This novel is given high praise by Lee Child, what more can be said?

This is the latest book from Mark Pryor, an Austin Assistant DA who writes suspense novels (often at a table here in the Oak Hill branch library). This book is written in first person narrative. The narrator suggests that he is a psychopath and just happens to be an Austin prosecutor. Set among the Austin music scene, the story is full of twists and complications. Recommended by Linda

Great incorporation of legal terms. Made the read very enticing.
