Absolutely enjoyed Samantha Morton's performance. Was not aware of the background history of the genetic discovery; really enjoyed the dialogue, humour and learned a thing or two.

I totally agree with the previous comment (readyrisa's) and analysis of the movie. I would give the rating a 2. Samantha Morton's performance is very robust. Helen Hunt's performance is underwhelming. As discussed, this movie could have been so much more.

Decoding Annie Parker tells the real life story of Toronto housewife Annie Parker (Samantha Morton), a three time cancer survivor who believes that the cancer she has got and has killed various members of her family was due to more than just bad luck and environmental factors and geneticist Mary-Claire King (Helen Hunt) who led a team of researchers for more than twenty years and found the breast cancer BRCA gene mutation which showed that cancer can be hereditary.

The film is underwhelming and I think the fault lies with the director for not making the best of this story.

Subtitles are a good size, white with no background
Awesomely heartwarming & strengthening 'based on true events' movie. Only reason I took half a star off is because it switches between people, which at first is confusing, then just annoying. Otherwise it shows how if you truly believe something, pursue it, against all odds. Also, love that its Canadian. Inspiring.
