Thanksgiving prayer: "Before Claudia Masters even meets Seth Lessinger, she leaves him a message from the Psalms: "May the Lord give you the desire of your heart." She knows there's something different about this man. Something special. And meeting him only confirms it. For his part, Seth, who is a new Christian, immediately recognizes that Claudia is the woman for him--the woman he wants to marry and take back to Alaska. But Claudia is torn between Seth and her life in Seattle. How can she give up everything familiar, everything she's always worked for? And yet, she can't bear the thought of losing this man she's come to love. Only when she acts with faith and hope does she find her true destiny."--Publisher.
A Handful of heaven: "Responsibility was nothing new to Paige McKaslin. She had raised her siblings and her son. And though duty was her guiding force, even in matters of the heart, she never stopped counting her blessings -- her faith and her wonderful family. Then the McKaslin diner, her livelihood and heritage, burned to the ground. Paige was suddenly free to discover herself and a blossoming relationship with rancher Evan Thornton. This intriguing man asked her out on her first date in eighteen years, totally disrupting her routine. Now love was an exciting possibility that made her rethink her orderly life. Could it be that God still had some surprises for her?"--Publisher.

Somewhat typical romance novel, except things seemed to be moving in a different direction. The supposedly attractive Seth becomes jealous, guarded and downright evil. The readers start to see his real stripes when suddenly happily ever after happens with the wrong guy. Bad choice and not believable.

The better story here is the surprise novella by Jillian Hart that follows. There are Christian features in both stories, but to me they weren't quite worked to their best advantage. What's sweeter than a man saying grace and sharing thanks for the blessings they share together? The prayers were silent and could have been so much more.
