"Since sitting down to write a book about the Kingston Mills murders and po[u]ring over the thousands of pages of evidence and transcripts, I've felt as if I were waking from some terrible dream. It was difficult at the time to believe that the three people meekly led into the courtoom each day in handcuffs, heads bowed and faces expressionless, could be capable of something as heinous as the crimes they were accused of. For all of us connected to this tragedy, the story of how these four women died will continue to haunt us."--P. [4] of cover.

Honor, there is no honor in killing someone you can't control. Why are they letting dubious female relatives in the country. Don't the realize that they are second or third wives. It's not just muslims that are doing this. Check out "Justice for Jassi" or search honor killings in the library. Jassi was a young girl from Abbotsford who was heavily controlled by her family. They wanted to marry her to an old man. On a trip to Ind ia she met a young man and she married him. Her family had her murdered in India. Honor. I think not. Disgusting., and I really don't like people coming her an doing such things.

In June, 2009, the locks at Kingston Mills revealed a terrible secret : a black Nissan automobile submerged, with the bodies of 4 women trapped inside.
Author Paul Schliesmann does a solid, if rather dry job of describing the complex and heart rending Shafia murder trial. This is an important book, simply for making more accessible the tragic beliefs and societal errors that led to these innocent deaths.

This book doesn't really add any new information compared to what was in the news at the time of the trial. Still it is an upsetting story and I wish Canada wouldn't admit these backward hillbillies into the country. Those poor girls and Rona :( Glad that the Shafias are in jail. Also it was disappointing to read that one guy who testafied against them is now shunned in the community.
