Nothing makes Portland detective Archie Sheridan happier than knowing that Gretchen Lowell--the serial killer whose stunning beauty is belied by the gruesome murders she's committed--is locked away in a psych ward. Archie can finally heal from the near-fatal physical and emotional wounds she's inflicted on him and start moving on with his life.

To this end, Archie throws himself into the latest case to come across his desk: A cyclist has discovered a corpse in Mount Tabor Park on the eastern side of Portland. The man was gagged, skinned, and found hanging by his wrists from a tree. It's the work of a killer bold and clever enough to torture his victim for hours on a sunny summer morning in a big public park and yet leave no trace.

And then Archie gets a message he can't ignore--Gretchen claims to have inside knowledge about this grisly murder. Archie finally agrees to visit Gretchen, because he can't risk losing his only lead in the case. At least, that's what he tells himself . . . but the ties between Archie and Gretchen have always been stronger, deeper, and more complex than he's willing to admit, even to himself. What game is she playing this time? And even more frightening, what long-hidden secrets from Gretchen's past have been dredged up that someone would kill to protect?

At once terrifying and magnetic, "Beauty Killer" Gretchen Lowell returns with a vengeance in Kill You Twice, Chelsea Cain's latest razor-sharp psychological thriller.

Chelsea Cain is more of a look what I can do author. Mostly in terms of sex blood and gore. I don't shy away from a lot of that stuff but she just seems to shove it in your face a strong majority of the time. It just doesn't flow very seamlessly with the rest of the book. It's not only that but lots of other plot points are just thrown in for the sake of a story.

Believe-ability is pretty much non-existent in this series but if you made it this far it can't be much of an issue. This book seems an appropriate way to end the series. What a waste of a truly creepy psychopathic serial killer.

I could not put the book down. A great read!

I would have to say that this is possibly one of my favorite books of the Archie Sheridan/Gretchen Lowell series. It isn't as intense as the first book in the series, Heartsick, but it is just as thought-provoking.

Finally Chelsea Cain provides us with some tidbits regarding Gretchen's past and some unexpected connections to minor characters in the book. I was quite impressed with the resolution and ending of this book and anticipate the next book. I cannot wait to see what Chelsea Cain plans next for Archie, Gretchen, and Susan.

This book kept me in suspense the entire time. I just could not put it down. Each chapter had more suspense than the next.

I have read from the beginning of the series. As corny as this sonds it is an interesting change to follow a female serial killer. The twisted hold that this woman has on her victim, Archie, keeps u wondering what is next, how far will Archie go? Can't wait until this summer when the newest book comes out! Oh ya.... if u r on facebook u can like Chelsea Cain's page and she will keep u posted on hopefully the up-coming tv series on Gretchen Lowell.... It is just in the process of being accepted or rejected! Hope it makes it to tv, I would soo enjoy to see these characters come to life!

Continued interesting story in this thriller series about gretchen lowell. Certainly a quick easy read and it's fun to try and guess who is the killer. Some of the suspense is lots though because the main characters are often in life-or-death situations and you just sort of know they'll be OK.

A compelling series...all three main characters are complex. Wonder what will happen next?

Love Archie and serial killers...what can I say? If you've read and enjoyed her earlier books, you will enjoy this one.
