The crucial period is re-created as an understaffed, technically inferior Royal Air Force brilliantly holds off a superior invasion by the German Luftwaffe, thus convincing Hilter that even he could not break the inexhaustable spirit of the British. Stunning aerial sequences and an awesome display of World War II relics combine to make this a true classic in the glorious genre of war epics.

Bad movie with unending dog fight sequences and an idiotic Christopher Plummer subplot.

Well done lots of action but I had a bit of trouble with catching everything being said. Kept having to turn the volume up then when action was happening I would turn down. Heavy English accent which was expected. Wife liked it more than I did, I am not much of a war movie person. I fell asleep while watching.

Real airplanes, yes. As long as you're not bothered by Curtis P-40 Warhawks, with modified windscreens and engine cowlings, painted to look like ME109's. Nevertheless, an excellent representation of the air war over Britain.

Battle of Britain is exciting and true. The British Royal Air Force was protecting the skies over Britain. The German Luftwaffe thought it was a superior air power, but this movie proves otherwise. Michael Caine heads up a great cast but the real stars are all those pilots who courageously fought and drove the German planes away from British Airspace. Five Star Hero's and a fine memorial to the debt we all owe them.

An excellent movie...the fighting scenes with the actual era aircraft was fantastic. This would all be CG in new movies.

The Battle of Britain is an outstanding movie- one of the few truly great WWII films where the stories of both sides are told without any ridiculous, unnecessary vilification or irrlevant inclusions. Everything about this film is good from the cast to the use of all the real airplanes, not just old trainers with bad markings.
