AKA Song for Marion. Not just another end of life tale but also the beginning of new lives for those left behind. Enjoyed Arthur's serenade to Marion as well as to his son and granddaughter "Goodnight, my angel" very much,…

Do yourself a favour and skip watching this movie. The main actors (Vanessa Redgrave and Terrance Stamp) are excellent but the script is saccharine melodramatic sentimental nonsense.
A much better and authentic film to watch about this…

A genuinely unexpected find! I don't remember the last film I gave 5 stars - this film deserves every one. I can't sumarize it better than akirakato, below: "delightful, touching and amusing."

Bravo! This little gem quietly illustrates what drama is all about. What I mean is that first you get a really good meaningful story and then you hire people who can act. It doesn't hurt to have a good director and fun music either.…

OK, I know this is a little schmaltzy, but when you are in your 70's it is so nice to see a story predominantly about senior citizens. I have loved Vanessa Redgrave and Terence Stamp forever. Gemma Atherton is delightful. Lovely…

The cover is misleading, and so is the library's categorization. - this is NOT a comedy. It's more about family dysfunction. There's the curmudgeon, the all understanding dying wife, the perky, perfect selfless volunteer, and a fraught…

Utterly predictable. You'll feel you've seen it all before. Totally condescending portrayal of the older people in the choir. Made me cringe. The only worthwhile moment was the last of the outtakes.

This is one of these movies that either you cry or...you cry (otherwise you are insensible, like me). Good, entertaining movie with flawless acting.

I loved this feel good movie about a group of seniors who form a choir and enter a choir competition. Sad, but also happy movie. It will make you cry, but well worth watching. Really makes you think about getting older and being vital…

Absolutely brilliant! Who else but Vanessa Redgrave and Terence Stamp could convey so much emotion with clasped hands or one look? I think the success of a movie or book is if it makes you care about the characters, and this movie does.
Just watched this and I enjoyed the acting of both Terence Stamp and Vanessa Redgrave. She stuns and he still smolders....amazing work. The plot is predictable, but the singing and the choir numbers were engaging.
My husband even…

The movie? A hefty dose of Schmaltz but it works. Can be suitable for all ages; for children it can offer a good way to learn of the otherwise much avoided topic of death…

Story is too easy to predict, but it's a good movie. All characters are very well played. I don't think I want to watch it again as it's too sad and hurting for me.

This is not a bad film as it stars Terrence Stamp, Vanessa Redgrave and the delightful Gemma Arterton. However, it pales alongside better films starring seniors, such as 'Away From Her'. Too much 'forced sentimentality', and the…
